I initially gained an interest in computer programming while studying for my first degree in Geochemistry in the early 1990s. Subsequently I realised what I really wanted to do was be a web developer and decided to work towards another degree through the Open University which I gained in 2005 which covered in depth all areas for web development and computer programming to an advanced level.

In 2014 I set up my own online digital services business offering web sites, web applications and social media marketing and am ranked high on google SEO for Radcliffe and Bury.

In 2020 I set up a drop shipping store with wordpress called Blazing Bargains which did have roughly 500 products. The instagram account I set up quickly gained 6000 follows.

Today my skillset is extensive and advanced as a full stack web developer with backend technologies such as php frontend html, css and javascript, databases and graphic design/image editing with photopshop and video editing with software like Imovie. Of course as a self-employed web developer it was imperative to gain advanced wordpress skills and am fully capable of custom theme development and gutenberg block development. My interest in keeping up with modern trends in the industry remains as keen as ever and over the past few years have taken over 30 courses through Udemy and many more through youtube. What I don’t know I can usually work out through online documentation and research. Also when I feel the need to take a technology further when tutorials have got as advanced as they go I can usually do that on my volition too.

Hobbies include playing the guitar, crosswords and foreign languages. I’ve played the guitar since the early 1980s and still play daily. My Italian is quite good and a little past getting by level now.
